Packaging supplier Rexam has launched its fifth annual Foam Formulation Challenge, which this year has a focus on baby products.

The challenge laid down by Rexam to manufacturers, contract packagers, distributors and formulators is to create a baby product that can be dispensed by the company’s EZI one-touch mechanical foamer. Formulations will evaluated by an international panel of judges and the winner will receive a €10,000 prize.

“In the US and around the world the market for personal care products for infants continues to grow,” commented Casper Kleiman, product manager - foam, Rexam Personal Care. “Segment acceleration is helped by elevated birth rates for women aged 30+ with higher disposable incomes.”

Rexam’s EZI foamer is said to provide one-hand operation which aids mothers when bathing their babies and provides an instant creamy, rich foam and can be used for products including body washes, shampoos and soaps.
