Rockwood Holdings inks deal with Holliday Pigments

Speciality chemicals company Rockwood Holdings has announced it has reached an agreement with Holliday Pigments’ parent company Yule Catto & Co to purchase the manufacturer for 46m Euros.


Speciality chemicals company Rockwood Holdings has announced it has reached an agreement with Holliday Pigments’ parent company Yule Catto & Co to purchase the manufacturer for 46m Euros.

Holliday Pigments is the manufacturer of inorganic ultramarine pigments for plastics, cosmetics, coatings and inks and posted sales of 34.7m Euros in 2007.

“The addition of Holliday Pigments is an excellent fit for us,” commented Seifi Ghasemi, chairman and ceo, Rockwood. “It is a business with a strong technical leadership and excellent growth prospects in diverse markets. This is an excellent bolt-on acquisition for Rockwood and an important addition to the Rockwood Color Pigments product line.”

The transaction is expected to be completed during Q3, subject to regulatory clearance.
