Clarins has unveiled two new skin care products that are said to provide an unprecedented level of innovation to the user. First up is Expertise 3P, a new anti-pollution facial mist that is claimed to protect against the skin ageing effects of electromagnetic waves, which are generated by domestic communications equipment including radios and televisions. Clarins claims that this type of pollution holds the same level of severity as urban pollution such as traffic fumes and cigarette smoke.

The clear spray contains Magnetic Defense Complex, a combination of Rhodiola rosea and Thermus thermophillus, which strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier, protecting against biological stress and helping to stimulate skin repairing enzymes. In addition, white tea provides antioxidant protection, while succory dock cress increases cellular energy, further reinforcing the skin’s natural defences. The long lasting protection is thanks to glycofilm, said to form a lasting, softening film on the skin.

Expertise 3P is said to be suitable for sensitive skins and can be used by the whole family.

Also new from the French skin care specialist is Skin Difference, an innovative skin and shaving product for the ClarinsMen franchise. The product is described as an anti-ageing shaving facilitator, providing skin care for the face, neck and shave zones. It works by softening beard hairs at the root, providing an easier shave, as well as hydrating, brightening and exfoliating skin to prevent ingrown hairs and create a smooth radiant finish. Clarins recommends the product is used at night to allow the formula time to penetrate the skin and soften the hairs, a time frame of approximately five to seven hours.

The formula is split into a dual hydro and lipo phase. The lipo phase, housed in a white bottle

contains unsaponifiables of avocado, which softens whiskers, stimulates collagen synthesis and provides hydration. In addition, marula oil and vitamin E add extra hydration and protection against free radicals. The hydro phase, housed in a blue bottle, contains keratolin, which provides natural exfoliating properties, and plane tree and palmatin to help slow down the division of keratinocytes in the hair bulb, helping to moderate new whisker growth. In addition, the phase features a complex of bison grass, purslane and galanga and provitamin B5.
