FKI Logistex has begun to install a high density automated handling system with a 70-year life expectancy.

The system, which has been designed for the British Library, allows for the highest possible density in order to reduce the storage footprint and associated costs. It combines 262 linear kilometres of fully automated storage with seven mini-cranes, six staff workstations and 140,000 custom containers. The equipment’s life expectancy is described by FKII Logistex as “unprecedented” and means that it will not be necessary to replace the system in its entirety within that period.

FKI Logistex’s services include material handling solutions for parcel distribution, manufacturing operations and warehouse and distribution facilities.
