Symrise launches 14th edition of the Genealogy of Fragrances
Launching its fourteenth edition of the Genealogy of Fragrances, Symrise, the world's fourth largest supplier of fragrances and flavours, claims the reference guide will provide the fragrance industry and its clients with a common reference tool and enable manufacturers to anticipate trends.
With an additional seven new families to its existing classification system, including masculine floral and woody, and feminine citrus, green, fruity, floriental and woody, the guide catalogues archetypes, 30 of both the US and Europe's top best sellers along with niche and prize-winning perfumes. As part of a presentation to members of the industry, a spokesperson for Symrise explained, “You are lost, we are lost and, above all, the consumer is lost.” The tool has therefore been designed to facilitate a regained and much-needed focus within the fragrance industry.
