Tea tree association complete report

The technical and safety committee of the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association (ATTIA) has submitted its safety dossier for tea tree oil for review by European law advisory bodies, the Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP) and Directorate General for Health and Consumer Affairs (DG SANCO), in Brussels ahead of a recommendation being made about the use of tea tree oil as a cosmetic ingredient in the EU.


The technical and safety committee of the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association (ATTIA) has submitted its safety dossier for tea tree oil for review by European law advisory bodies, the Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP) and Directorate General for Health and Consumer Affairs (DG SANCO), in Brussels ahead of a recommendation being made about the use of tea tree oil as a cosmetic ingredient in the EU.

In the dossier, ATTIA claims a strong safety record for tea tree oil and states that all information will be available to the public as soon as possible.

ATTIA are appealing for companies with interests in tea tree oil for financial assistance to further the campaign. All monies collected will be matched by the Australian government.
