The Body Shop has joined forces with MTV to launch the ‘Move Your Lips’ campaign 2008, to help raise awareness of the global epidemic of HIV/AIDS in young people.

In support of this, The Body Shop has also launched a Limited Edition Guarana Lip Butter, all the proceeds from which go directly to the Staying Alive Foundation, an organisation which funds HIV awareness and prevention for young people around the world.

The campaign comes in the wake of shocking new statistics that highlight that over half of all new HIV infections are among young adults under 25. It is also estimated that one person in the 15-24 age group contracts the disease every 15 seconds.

Toby Morgan, Values Manager for The Body Shop comments on the initiative: “HIV and AIDS is far from a problem of the past as these worrying statistics show. The Body Shop ‘Get Lippy’ campaign is designed to bring it back to the forefront of young people’s minds, as well as change attitudes and behaviours towards HIV and AIDS.”

Guarana Lip Butter goes on sale on 27th March and has a retail price of £5.00. For more information on the campaign log onto www.moveyourlips.com.
