Unilever posts positive results for third quarter

Q3 for 2010 shows good growth as volume sales remain strong


It has been announced that Unilever’s turnover stood at €11.548m, up 13.2% over the same period last year, at the end of the third quarter. Its operating profit also grew by 21% to €1.81m while its net profit grew by the same amount to €1.34m.

In announcing the positive results, Unilever’s ceo, Paul Polman, commented: “We have delivered another quarter of solid progress driven by our emerging markets business which again reported high levels of volume growth. This reflects the strength of our position in these markets where competitive activity is intense.”

Polman also remarked on how the results confirm again that Unilever’s strategy to focus on the consumer and accelerate growth is working. Meanwhile, forecasts for the end of the year are also expected to be positive.
