Unilever is allegedly set to add refillable personal care brand Wild to its beauty portfolio.
The consumer goods giant is rumoured to have agreed to terms which would see it acquire Wild from its founders and early-stage investors, according to a report by Sky News.
A deal could be announced within weeks, a source allegedly told the publication, and is estimated to be worth £230m.
The rumoured sale would further strengthen Unilever's offering in the personal care space, with brands Dove, Lynx and Axe already in its portfolio.
Commenting on the news, a spokesperson for Unilever told Cosmetics Business: “We don’t comment on market speculation or rumours.”
A spokesperson for Wild also told Cosmetics Business the company is unable to issue a comment.
Wild was founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs Charlie Bowes-Lyon and Freddy Ward.
It sells a range of refillable natural deodorants, lip balms, body washes and handwashes.
Key features of the sustainable brand include biodegradable, compostable and refillable packaging.
In 2022, Wild Cosmetics closed a £5m investment, led by Innocent drink's JamJar Investments.
Unilever’s last big beauty acquisition was in 2024 when it snapped up K18.
The hair care brand joined the conglomerate’s Prestige Beauty division.
