Marketplace app brings spa to consumers with on-demand services

Marketplace app Uspaah has raised £270k in crowdfunding to support its launch in the UK.

The app reached its goal after 143 individual investors pledged their support on CrowdCube.

Uspaah is an app that allows consumers to book on-demand beauty and spa treatments. Unlike some other services on the market, Uspaah sends a fully trained “Spaahrista” to the consumer’s door for an at-home treatment.

More than 6,500 people have already downloaded the app, making 1,800 bookings.

The app was founded by CEO Iglika Ghouse. Previously working as an investment banker at UBS, she saw a gap in the market for high-quality spa and beauty services that professionals often struggle to fit into their schedule.

Ghouse said: “We know our clients’ time is precious so we’ve made the booking process as easy as possible.”

All “Spaahristas” are said to be certified, insured and background-checked. The Uspaah team also personally vetts all of the therapists to ensure high standards. The Spaahristas are also given custom treatment kits stocked with premium products, such as AromaWorks oils.

Ghouse added: “We’ve got a great opportunity to improve and truly make a positive change in the lives of both clients and professionals. And we’re incredibly excited for the next stage of our growth.”
