Vitamin E prevents oxidation of lipids in the skin by eliminating active oxygen caused by ultraviolet rays. Although it is an oily substance, SDK has made it soluble in water and easily blendable in cosmetic formulations.

TPNa is claimed to have anti-inflammatory and moisture retention effects on skin. In Japan it has been approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a new ingredient for quasi medicine under the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law and the product has completed the two-year safety test period in accordance with the law.
