The woman who coined the phrase ‘eyebrows on fleek’ is hoping to raise $100k to start her own cosmetics and hair care line.
Peaches Monroee, whose real name is Kayla Lewis, has set up a GoFundMe fundraising page and has so far raised $9,401 via 553 people in two days.
Lewis found fame when she posted a Vine in which she used the phrase ‘eyebrows on fleek’ in 2014.
This phrase then went viral with brands quickly adopting the phrase in marketing materials and social media campaigns.
On her fundraising page, Lewis said: “Everyone has used the phrase/word but I haven’t received any money behind it or recognition.”
Talking about her ambition she added: “With this money, I plan on starting a website, get this project on legal papers with a good lawyer, etc and making sure my dreams come true as far as this “Fleek” thing.”
Lewis is majoring in college in nursing but explained: “I also want to make sure Im getting the recognition and money I deserve to make.”
