Boxal Group and Exal North America have emerged victorious at the World Aluminum Aerosol Can Award competition, organised by the International Organization of Aluminum Aerosol Container Manufacturers (AEROBAL).

Boxal took home the award for the category of Can Already in the Market. Its 59mm by 205mm aluminium aerosol can for French company Fareva’s olive oil spray features a customised full-body shaped can with a food grade internal coating. It also sports Boxal’s recently launched Hi-Def printing technology, which is said to deliver photo realistic designs.

Meanwhile, the Prototype category was won by Exal Group subsidiary Exal North America. The winning package uses Exal’s Coil-To-Can (C2C) technology, which marries the manufacturing speed and light weighting of standard beverage can technology with the shaping technology originally available only with heavier walled extruded aluminium containers. The C2C containers’ lighter weight means a reduction in transport related CO2 emissions. They are also infinitely recyclable and can be made using post consumer recycled aluminium.
