The average scalp supports about 100,000 hairs, which grow at a rate of around 125mm per month. Each hair lasts between three and ten years, and between 50 and 100 hairs are lost per day. The hair care market itself is very fragmented with products targeted at each and every consumer need; for every hair type and colour, for different ethnic origins and for different consumer ages.
