Heidi Manheimer and Katsuhiko Shibuya will accept package design award

Pratt Institute and Luxe Pack will honour Shiseido at 2012’s Art Of Packaging Award Gala for its outstanding commitment to package design. Heidi Manheimer, ceo of Shiseido Cosmetics America, and Katsuhiko Shibuya, creative director, Shiseido Co Ltd, will accept the award on behalf of the company during a ceremony, taking place on 17 April in New York.

Since joining Shiseido’s creative team, Shibuya has created award-winning visual communications and packaging design for some of Shiseido’s most important brands, and a love of Japanese painting techniques is often reflected in his work for the company.

The annual Art of Packaging Award benefits the Marc Rosen Scholarship and Education Fund for Packaging by Design at Pratt Institute, the only scholarship in the world available to college students looking to pursuer careers in cosmetics and package design. Previous award recipients include Avon, Bath & Body Works, Clavin Klein, Clinique, Coty Inc, Coty Prestige, Dior Beauty, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, P&G Prestige, Procter & Gamble and Ralph Lauren Fragrances.
