Chanel’s latest drop transforms fragrance purse spray into a keepsake objet d’art – and experts believe other luxury players will follow its lead.
The brand’s sold-out Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense Purse Spray is described by the French fashion and beauty maison as a “piece of jewellery that adorns the wrist”.
Featuring a double strap combining a string of pearls and a golden chain, the £165 accessory comes with three 7ml refills of the ambery woody fragrance – and 7ml refills trios are also available for £80, encouraging long term use.
Chanel has, of course, merged its beauty, jewellery and fashion know- how similarly before.
Last year, the luxury player unveiled the 31 Le Rouge range of refillable lipsticks in jewel- inspired keepsake cases, intended to be bequeathed to future generations in the same way one might pass on heirloom gems or a luxury timepiece.
The brand is also not alone in offering a high end, travel size fragrance format.
