The second round of funding will provide grants to struggling salons and scholarships to future stylists

Cécred and the BeyGOOD Foundation have renewed their investment in the hair care industry with a second instalment of the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund.

This has seen them commit US$500,000 to support emerging stylists, salon owners and cosmetology students across the US.

Launched by global artist and entrepreneur Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, both Cécred and BeyGOOD said they share a mission to champion education, entrepreneurship and economic prosperity within the beauty sector.

This year’s fund sees an expansion in scope, with nationwide access and targeted support for those facing financial hardship.

“Since the brand’s launch over a year ago, Cécred’s partnership with BeyGOOD has honoured the knowledge and influence professional stylists have on their clients,” said Tina Knowles, Vice Chairwoman of Cécred and Chair of the Board of Directors at BeyGOOD Foundation.

“Through my years of experience as a stylist and salon owner, I know firsthand the importance of an empowered stylist and an inclusive learning environment.

“With the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund, we strive to uplift the professional hair industry and grow the salon community, while giving students and salon owners the tools they need to progress it forward.”

A total of $370,000 will be allocated in business grants, with 37 salon and barbershop owners receiving $10,000 each.

The funding is intended to offer financial relief while also enabling business development through mentoring and resources delivered in partnership with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

In a bid to maximise impact, the top 40% of non-selected applicants will also receive access to business coaching and support for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification.

Applications for the business grants will close on 13 June.

Some $130,000 will also be directed toward cosmetology student scholarships across five schools: Detroit Extravagant Academy, Cosmetology Institute of Las Vegas, Universal College of Beauty, Civella Beauty Academy, and Bennett Career Institute.

Institutions were chosen based on factors including financial need, curriculum inclusivity, community impact and student support frameworks.

Cécred also announced the launch of its new Pro Programme, including larger, backbar-friendly sizes of its Foundation Collection.

The initiative provides access to exclusive education and networking opportunities for stylists, continuing the brand’s mission to elevate professional practice.

“Stylists are the heart of the hair care industry and pillars of their communities–they’re trusted experts, artists, and entrepreneurs,” said Grace Ray, CEO at Cécred.

“At Cécred, our commitment has always been to uplift and invest in this vital community from the very beginning.

“Through education, access, and building meaningful relationships, we’re proud to support professional and aspiring stylists, build thriving businesses, elevate their craft and continue doing what they do best.”
