The US brand’s Classic Lip Pot has been immortalised by the British designer in accessory form

British accessories designer Anya Hindmarch has launched a coin purse inspired by Carmex.

The US brand’s 86-year-old Classic Lip Pot has been immortalised in a £225 limited edition accessory by the fashion brand.

The Carmex x Anya Hindmarch Coin Purse is made from glossy capra leather and boasts the label’s branding, product shape and signature yellow hue.

It also features a tassel zip pull, lobster clasp and keychain so it can be hooked on to any handbag.

“Carmex is a bona-fide staple of make-up kits (or jacket pockets) the world over,” read a statement on Hindmarch’s website.

“In fact, we are not quite sure who does not have a tub of the moisturising stuff permanently rolling around at the bottom of their bag.

“So, we have made a version you can keep forever.”

The coin purse is available to buy at anyahindmarch.com and in-store.

Lip care brand Carmex was founded by Alfred Woelbing in 1937.

This launch comes hot on the heels of Hindmarch’s collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, which launched last week.

The British designer has created a limited edition coin purse and clutch bag which pays homage to the beauty brand’s best-selling Elnett hairspray.

Other beauty-fashion collaborations by Hindmarch include a crossbody handbag and charm based on Imperial Leather’s classic bar soap.
