Coty has named Kara Langan (pictured) General Manager of Consumer Beauty US in a “significant step” to accelerate growth in one of the company’s “most important markets”.
Langan will join the beauty giant on 13 October and manage Coty's consumer beauty business across the US, overseeing commercial strategy, innovation and brand performance.
She will be based in New York, US, and report to Amaury De Vallois, Executive VP, UUCAN, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to Gordon von Bretten, President of Consumer Beauty at Coty.
Coty’s consumer beauty business comprises brands such as Bourjois, Covergirl, Max Factor and Rimmel.
The company reported a mixed quarter of trading in Q4 2026, with revenue gains offset by pressure on underlying consumer beauty sales growth.
Langan’s appointment also follows the recent arrival of Vanessa Kidd as Coty’s EVP, Lifestyle Scenting Global Brands and NPD.
Tickets are now available for the 25th anniversary of the Pure Beauty Awards, taking place on 15 October 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. Join the beauty industry for an evening of recognition and celebration as this year’s winners are revealed. Click here to secure your place.
"Kara and Vanessa are proven leaders with outstanding track records of transforming brands, driving growth and building high-performing teams," said von Bretten.
"Their appointments reflect the momentum we are building across consumer beauty and our ability to attract top industry talent.
“As we continue to execute our strategy and invest behind our brands, these leaders bring the expertise and perspectives needed to strengthen our business and unlock future growth."
Langan has more than 20 years of experience leading consumer brands across beauty, including fragrance, colour cosmetics, skin care, hair care and personal care.
She most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer of Face and Skincare at personal care platform Evermark, where she led marketing for a portfolio of heritage beauty brands.
The executive is cited as having accelerated the “relevance” of these heritage players with new generations via creator, influencer and social commerce strategies.
Langan has also held senior leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson Consumer, including serving as Global President of Vogue International, the hair care business behind OGX.
She has also worked at Elizabeth Arden and Revlon, helping to drive brand transformation and growth across fragrance, skin care and make-up.
