European MPs say Brussels is considering potential derogation from the cosmetics marketing ban

Consideration affects products where no alternative test methods are available


MEPs are claiming the European Commission is considering a u-turn in its decision to ban the sale of cosmetics tested on animals after March 11. According to European Parliament members Cornelis de Jong and Claudio Morganti, Brussels is considering exempting products tested on animals to assess the repeated dose and reproductive toxicity, where no alternative methods are available.
