Henkel has upgraded its 2026 sales outlook after a strong performance in the third quarter of the year.
Sales across the German consumer goods giant’s business grew 11% on a nominal basis to €5.7bn in the third quarter, compared with the same period last year, and organic sales rose 6.5%.
All regions and both business areas contributed to Henkel’s growth, led by its adhesive division.
In Henkel’s consumer division, organic sales grew 4.8% driven by its hair care business, as well as laundry and home care.
The division, which includes hair care brands Schwarzkopf and got2b, experienced “clearly positive price development of 3.2% and good volume growth of 1.6%”, Henkel said in a statement announcing its preliminary results for the quarter.
The performance prompted Henkel to up its outlook for the full 2026 financial year.
Henkel now expects organic sales growth across the group of between 3% and 4%, up from 1.5% to 3.5% previously expected.
Organic sales in its consumer brands business is now expected to be between 1.5% to 2.5%, up from the previously expected growth of 0.5% to 2.5%.
Acquisitions, which include hair care brands Olaplex and Not Your Mother’s, are expected to have a positive impact in the low-single-digit range.
“Our strong business performance in the third quarter once again underscores the consistent execution of our strategy for purposeful growth. In a market environment that remains challenging, we delivered very strong organic sales growth,” said Carsten Knobel, CEO of Henkel.
“At the same time, we further strengthened our portfolio through strategically attractive acquisitions, creating additional growth opportunities across both business units.
“By updating our 2026 guidance, we reaffirm our clear commitment to sustainable, profitable growth.”
