Italian actress Isabella Rossellini has rejoined Maison Lancôme after a 21 year break from the luxury French company.

The 65-year-old first joined the L’Oréal-owned brand in 1983 to spread its values and visions of femininity, but was dropped after 14 years of partnership.

Now she has returned to be a spokesmodel and celebrate serene attitude to age.

“Beyond Lancôme’s values, which she represents so magnificently and quintessentially, Isabella embodies the idea of an accomplished beauty that is synonymous with wellbeing,” said Françoise Lehmann, General Manger of Lancôme.

“She also maintains a very positive, serene attitude to age, which she experiences as liberating and self-affirming.”

The daughter of Swedish actress and Italian neorealist film director Roberto Rossellini, she is esteemed actress - with over ten awards and 15 nominations to her name - author, philanthropist and model.

Rossellini added: “I am overwhelmed with emotion to be back at Lancôme.

“Our collaboration meant so much to me in my life. Continuing it fills me with immense joy and great expectations.

“I am also well aware that this decision goes well beyond me: it’s a strong indication of Lancôme’s inclusiveness and celebration of all women.”
