ISP introduces safer sun care with Escalol S
ISP Personal Care’s licence with BASF over BASF’s bis-resorcinol-triazine technology has resulted in the production of a UV filter designed to provide broad spectrum skin protection against damage caused by exposure to the sun. ISP’s Escalol S offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays in a single ingredient and is said to be highly photostable.

ISP’s Escalol S offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays in a single ingredient and is said to be highly photostable.
According to ISP, Escalol S can also be used to boost the performance and stability of other commonly used UV filters, enabling the creation of synergies that offer higher SPF ratings for UVB radiation and photo stability that results in longer lasting UVA protection.
Escalol S will be available in the EU immediately and ISP hopes to market it in the US once it has been approved by the USFD.
