Danny Sanz partnered with photographer Ellen von Unwerth to create a range of characters

The debut book from the founder of LVMH-owned Make Up For Ever has hit shelves this week.

Life Is a Stage explores the inspiration and creative process behind Dany Sanz’s business journey.

Heavily influenced by Sanz’s time at art school and her experience in the theatre as a set designer, each stage of her career is encapsulated by a character.

Urban Polychrome portrays her discovery of a passion for body painting after being asked to paint actors’ faces and bodies, while The Triplets were inspired by her time as a trainer at Europe’s first make-up school.

Sanz collaborated with fashion and editorial photographer Ellen von Unwerth on the project.

Published by Rizzoli, the book comes in a box set that includes Sanz’s sketchbook featuring 48 drawings by the business woman that correspond to the 27 characters.
