Molton Brown has opened a new store in London, UK, inspired by the brand’s roots and designed to create a calming sanctuary for shoppers.
Located in Broadgate, the heart of the capital’s financial district, the Kao Corporation-owned brand’s new store design is a nod to its original 1970s salon.
The beauty business started as an eco-conscious hair salon, and was founded in 1971 by Caroline Burstein and Michael Collis on South Molton Street in Mayfair, London.
Blending natural textures, warm lighting and lush greenery to create a calming, contemporary sanctuary, the store offers customers the opportunity to explore Molton Brown’s range of fragrances with help from in-store experts.
The store also features the brand’s growing refill collection for hand and body products, which is part of its commitment to ensure 50% of its retail is reusable or refillable.
Sustainable design choices have also been introduced at the new store, with eco-friendly wood laminates, low-VOC paints, low-energy LED lighting, and sustainable floor tiles.
“At Molton Brown, we continue to thoughtfully evolve our stores to keep them truly relevant and inspiring,” said Angela Rivett, Associate Director of Retail at Molton Brown.
“This new opening puts customers at the centre of the journey – a place where people can explore, discover and fall in love with our products in a meaningful way.”
During the opening week, visitors were greeted by a matcha cart pop-up offering free drinks, and the first 100 customers received a goody bag when spending over £50.
