The certification confirms that the lubricant has been scientifically tested and shown to be compatible with the vulvo-vaginal microbiome, meeting MyMicrobiome’s rigorous standards for products designed for intimate use

MyMicrobiome AG, the global leader in microbiome certification, today announced that Vögeln™, the first product from OhMyV GmbH, has successfully received the Microbiome-Friendly Certification.

The certification confirms that the lubricant has been scientifically tested and shown to be compatible with the vulvo-vaginal microbiome, meeting MyMicrobiome’s rigorous standards for products designed for intimate use.

vögeln™ was engineered with microbiome health as a core design principle. The formulation underwent independent laboratory testing to ensure it does not negatively impact beneficial vaginal bacteria and preserves microbiome balance in the vulvo-vaginal area.

“Consumers increasingly want intimate care products that are supported by real science,” said Hedy Scheck, COO MyMicrobiome AG. “Our Microbiome-Friendly certification ensures that products like vögeln™ have been independently tested and shown to respect the delicate balance of beneficial bacteria that are essential for vaginal health.”

The launch of vögeln™ also reflects a broader movement toward transparency and science-driven formulation in intimate wellness products. The product was developed with an emphasis on microbiome awareness, ingredient transparency, and inclusive design. Its gender-neutral branding aims to promote broader understanding of vaginal health and reduce stigma around intimate wellness.

'This certification proves that health and pleasure don't have to be mutually exclusive', Payne, founder of OhMyV, explains. 'We didn't just develop a gel; we developed the first product in this category that's been rigorously tested to ensure it supports the vaginal microbiome. That's the innovation the market has been missing.' Since its launch, OhMyV reports strong initial demand, including significant interest from male consumers—an encouraging signal that conversations around vaginal health and sexual wellness are becoming more inclusive and normalized.

“While lubricants may seem like simple products, their formulations can have a meaningful impact on vaginal health,” said Payne. “We created vögeln™ to combine scientific rigor with transparency and to challenge the status quo in intimate care.”

With this certification, vögeln™ joins a growing group of products designed to support microbiomeconscious personal care.
