Kylie Skin, a brand new business for the beauty mogul, is set to be available to customers from May

Beauty entrepreneur and Forbes’ self-made billionaire, Kylie Jenner, has added to her cosmetics empire with her debut skin care line.

Aptly named Kylie Skin, and separate to colour brand Kylie Cosmetics, the first release of products include a Face Wash, Face Scrub, Toner, Serum, Face Moisturizer and Eye Cream (from US$20).

Jenner took to her personal Instagram account to share the news with her 135 million followers.

It read: “KYLIE F*CKING SKIN! Wow. Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and Kylie Skin was something I dreamt up soon after Kylie Cosmetics. I’ve been working on this for what feels like a lifetime so I can’t believe I’m finally announcing!”

She went on to write about hiring the brand’s new team and describe the products as cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and gluten, paraben and sulphate-free.

Despite the business’ growing success and selling US$54.5m of products in its first six weeks on sale at Ulta, earlier this month, rumours began to circulate that the brand might be up for sale.

However, neither Jenner nor the brand has made a statement regarding its potential sale.

The 21-year-old has become the first - and youngest - in the Kardashian-Jenner clan to release a skin care line.

Her sister’s rival beauty brand KKW Beauty, owned by Kim Kardashian West, currently stocks an extensive range of colour cosmetics and a line of fragrances.

However, Kendall Jenner, could be next to enter the skin care business as she filed beauty trademarks ‘Kendall’ and ‘Kendall Jenner’ last week.

The new products are set to hit the market in May and will be available from kylieskin.com.
