Beauty subscription brand Birchbox is giving its monthly box an eco-friendly revamp for April by teaming up with Stasher, the reusable bag specialist, to deliver a more sustainable beauty experience.

This April, in celebration of Earth Day on the 22nd, subscribers will find their monthly beauty selection housed in a reusable Stasher bag, an environmentally friendly silicone bag that is said to have prevented 50 million single-use plastic bags from entering the waste stream in the UK to date.

Inside, beauty fans will discover a tailored selection of natural and sustainable beauty offerings from the likes of Kiehl's, Greenfrog Botanics, Huygens and Algologie, while the bag can then be reused to store beauty products, food and anything else users may wish to save.

Katia Beauchamp, CEO and founder of Birchbox, said: “At Birchbox, we believe in our power to build the world we want to live in, and that starts with taking care of our planet.

“We’re on a mission to make beauty simple for our customers, and we’re thrilled to partner with Stasher so we can make it easy for them to incorporate sustainability into their lives, too.”

The partnership is part of Birchbox's ongoing efforts to become more sustainable, following making its packaging 100% recyclable and biodegradable in 2016.

The company has also pledged that 80% of everything it produces will be recyclable by by 2025, which it plans to achieve by taking measures to divert waste from landfills.

Shannon Morgan Stearns, VP of Marketing at Stasher, added: “We are thrilled to partner with Birchbox to provide a reusable solution to help subscribers save what matters.

“We are excited to share our mission with a new audience and provide a simple alternative to single-use plastic.”

Consumers can sign up for the April box (£13.95) now by visiting birchbox.co.uk.
