Body Shop does body double

Smart packaging divides formulation intensities

The Body Shop, which says it launched the first body butters in the early 1990s, is claiming another international body butter first with a duo concept: “One product, two formulations – simply divided by smart packaging.”

Body Butter Duo is a single pot with two compartments containing two body butter products offering different levels of moisturisation – one for normal skin such as that on arms and one for dryer skin such as that on shins and elbows.

The Body Shop says its existing body butters are global cult items, with one sold every three seconds. However the company says it also understands that different parts of the body require different levels of moisture intensity, with 72% of women claiming to have areas of very dry skin.

Available in four fragrances (Floral Acai, Vanilla, Macadamia and Sweet Pea), the Body Butter Duos incorporate Community Fair Trade ingredients including shea butter, beeswax, cocoa butter, Brazil nut, babassu nut oil and soya oil. They promise up to 24 hours of moisturisation and are available in 200ml sizes for £12.50 from the end of May.
