Colombia has become the first country in South America to ban cosmetics testing on animals.

The Bill 120/2018 was unanimously approved by the Colombian Senate in June, and has now been officially signed by President Iván Duque Márquez.

The legislation bans the experimentation, import, manufacture and sale of cosmetics and cosmetic ingredients that are tested on animals.
