Elliona releases a world first for the nail industry

Elliona has released the world’s 'first and only’ nail polish remover in gel form, rather than liquid.

Gel Off (£6) is said to be more convenient for consumers wearing shellac and gel polish.

The company claims the innovation is a safer formula than traditional polish remover because with Gel Off users do not need to soak their fingers in acetone, but only need to apply the gel remover on top of the nail avoiding skin contact.

A spokesperson for the brand said: “Liquid nail polish removers can cause irritation, dryness and redness to the skin, not to mention the risk of contact dermatitis with repeated use.

“Liquid acetone can absorb into the nail causing the nail to become brittle and flake.

“The unique gel formulation of Gel Off sits on the nail and doesn't touch the skin, therefore acetone is less likely to be absorbed into the nail.”

Gel Off is currently available in the UK at Tesco and television shopping channel QVC.
