The new BRB Malaysia plant has been successfully opened on June 2nd, 2016

After the hard work to finalise its new Silicone Synthesis plant in Malaysia, BRB is proud to announce that the new BRB Malaysia plant has been successfully opened on June 2nd, 2016. With the official grand opening of the new Silicone Synthesis plant, BRB has expanded its Malaysian industrial footprint to further back integrate in dimethicone copoyols, alkyl dimethicones and volatile dimethicones.

BRB entered a new phase with the grand opening of BRB Silicone Synthesis Sdn Bhd in Malaysia on June 2nd, 2016. It is a multipurpose Silicone Synthesis plant and GMP production facility with a combined annual capacity of 10,000 metric ton. The plant is designed to manufacture vinyl silicone fluid, silicone polyether, low viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluids, cross-linkers and chain extenders, gum blends, silicone emulsions and silicone anti-foams. These products cater for personal and home care, coating & construction and latex & rubber industries. BRB’s new plant is a MYR45 million investment with a total land area of 4 acres (16,200 square meters). Construction began in May 2014 and was completed in the 2nd quarter of 2016.

The plant has been officiated by His Excellency Mr. Harry Molenaar, Dutch ambassador in Malaysia, Datuk N. Rajendran Nayaranasamy, Deputy CEO 2 for Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Datuk Baharuddin bin Mohd Rafik, Director for Royal Malaysia Custom Department, Selangor State Branch. For all visiting guests at the opening, a traditional lion dance performance followed by a guided tour of the plant was arranged. The performance of the lion dance symbolised the assurance that all of BRB's efforts regarding the new Silicone Synthesis plant would be met with success.
