The debut of the brand’s nature-inspired products is said to coincide with increasing category interest among Chinese consumers

Luxury French skin care brand L’Occitane has signed a retail partnership with China’s largest e-commerce platform JD.com.

With over 300 million customers, the retailer stocks a broad range of cross-category products and has previously partnered with beauty giant Unilever.

The introduction of the brand’s products, which feature natural ingredients, is said to coincide with the rise of consumer interest in natural and organic products in China.

According to marketing consultancy Clear, growth in natural sector sales has overtaken synthetic product sales in China.

Data shows that 75% of customers cite product ingredients as a main factor when purchasing, while 69% of shoppers are willing to pay more for a completely natural product.

JD.com will stock a range of L’Occitane products including its organic hand creams, body milk, olive oil soap and shower cream.
