According to the retailer, sales of in-car scents have grown 200% compared with sales in 2019

The Perfume Shop has revealed that one of its fragrance categories in particular has revved up in popularity.

Compared with sales in 2019, the retailer’s car scent category has seen a 200% uptick in sales.

Best-sellers in the sub-category include products from fragrance brand Spry.

Said to last up to three months, the five naturally produced scents include Zing, featuring lemongrass and verbena; Shade of Noir, blended with pomegranate, plum and vanilla; Heaven Scent, infused with musk and sandalwood; Sea Rock, including notes of seaweed and citrus; and Aphrodite Black Rose, featuring oud, tobacco and Halfeti black rose.

Meanwhile, also performing well in the category is NIA Car Fragrances.

This bottle-shaped paper fragrance, enriched with essential oils is said to give off subtle notes for up to 28 days.

Scents are available in Orange Neroli and Bay, Peach Blossom and Vanilla and Peony Blush.

To tap into the growing category, The Perfume Shop has also introduced two ceramic diffusers.

Available in a disc and heart shape, the products can be scented with any perfume by spraying liberally and hanging in the care.

“Whether it’s the daily commute, the weekly shopping, or annual holiday road trip, we a country, we spend a lot of time on the road, so drivers and passengers should definitely enjoy the environment you are in,” said The Perfume Shop’s Marketing & Customer Experience Director, Cathay Newman.

“These luxury car scents and diffusers are a real treat and we can already see they are a hit with our customers.”
