Valentino casts models Adut Akech and Anwar Hadid for new Born in Roma fragrance campaign

The new flanker scents for him and her are described as a modern take on the brand’s original scents

Italian fashion house Valentino has cast models Adut Akech and Anwar Hadid in its new Born in Roma flanker fragrance campaign.

Akech made her runway debut walking for Saint Laurent in 2017 and has appeared in editorials for American Vogue, British Vogue and Vogue Italia.

Hadid, who’s family members include model royalty Bella and Gigi Hadid, was tapped for the cover of Teen Vogue in 2016 and named the face of Hugo Boss Menswear Hugo line the following year.

The two flanker scents for him and her are designed to be a modern take on the brand’s original Born in Roma fragrance.

The fragrance for him, which was formulated by master perfumers Antoine Maisondieu and Guillaume Flavigny, is blended with woody vetiver, salt, violet leaves absolute and ginger.

Meanwhile, the female version features notes of jasmine, vanilla bourbon and woody tones and was created by Amandine Marie and Honorine Blanc.

Valentino hired fashion photographers Inez and Vinoodh to shoot the campaign’s images, while Harmony Korine was tapped to direct the film.

The fragrance was created under Valentino’s licensing deal with L’Oréal, which was renewed in 2018.
