Avant-garde fashion and fragrance house Viktor&Rolf has snapped up former US The X Factor contestant Jacob Whitesides as the face of its new male scent.
The 21-year-old singer-songwriter first appeared on the show aged 14 before being signed by BMG Rights Management.
Today, Whitesides records his albums for Double U Records, where he also serves as CEO.
Commenting on his new ambassador role Whitesdies said: “I was honoured to be contacted by Vicktor&Rolf - it was a huge moment for me.
“I am mind-blown by the designers’ commitment to bringing to life their artistic vision for the new fragrance, which I relate to when I work on my music, or a tour or a video.”
Viktor&Rolf was established in 1993 by Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren and has launched seven scents for women and four for men, including its latest Spicebomb Night Vision, under license with L’Oréal.
Founders Horsting and Snoeren said: “With our new fragrance for men, we want to showcase the power of scent and continue to play with opposites, which is so innate to our DNA.
“Jacob’s raw appeal and energy, as well as his sensual yet mysterious masculinity made him a natural match for us.”
The new fragrance features notes of green caradmom, green mandarin essence, apple accord, black chilli accord, black pepper, clove and nutmeg.
