'We need to stop talking about being clean': Drunk Elephant founder on life with Shiseido

In beauty, there is no set path to success. While many dedicate their entire career to the industry, pursuing qualifications, top employers and the perfect business plan, every now and then you stumble upon a ‘Cinderella story’.

It’s one we all know: the tale of a stay-at-home mum who, after mixing formulations in her kitchen by night, transforms into an entrepreneur with a multi-million pound beauty brand.

One such woman is Tiffany Masterson. Having found her glass slipper, in one decade the mother of four has gone from selling imported soap to “make extra cash” to founding the wildly popular skin care brand Drunk Elephant to landing one of the most coveted deals in beauty industry history.

“That was one of the best days of my life,” Masterson tells Cosmetics Business reflecting on her deal with industry heavyweight Shiesido.
