P.Louise’s highly-anticipated Christmas event, Pinkmas, has been cancelled more than a month before doors were set to open – despite strong ticket sales.
Set to take place in December in Manchester, UK, at Barton Dock Road, TraffordCity, the British beauty brand’s month-long activation comprised three immersive zones as part of a three-hour experience.
Fans of the brand had high expectations for the event following the success of Pinkmas in 2024, only to be left disappointed by news of the cancellation.
On 27 October, P.Louise shared a statement revealing that the event – set to feature food stands, workshops, a pink ice skating rink and pantomime performance – would no longer be going ahead.
The event website page has also been taken down.
The announcement, shared as a message from P.Louise founder Paige Williams to the brand’s Instagram stories, read: “I am devastated to announce that Pinkmas, despite being almost fully built, has been cancelled due to issues with the licensing process.
“Unfortunately, I cannot take the risk of opening the event without a definite resolution, as the last thing I would ever want is to disappoint so many of you.
“Please believe me when I say this decision has not been made lightly.
“I have personally invested so much into this build, and the structure is already in place.”
Tickets have been on sale since June, costing £60 for off-peak and £80 for peak times, with the initial release selling out in minutes.
Williams’ statement continued: “However, at this point, the only reasonable option is to refund everyone in full in the next five working days and work towards giving everyone the most perfect solution.
“All customers will be contacted personally and will receive a full refund within five working days.”
In addition to a full refund, those who pre-booked tickets will also receive a complimentary visit to the P.Louise Empire, including access to the Lip Oil Room and access to the Christmas Experience as well as a £20 drinks voucher, as reported by The Manchester Evening News.
Those who cannot visit the P.Louise Empire will be offered a P.Louise 12 Sleighs of Christmas Advent Calendar, worth £200, as an alternative (one per booking).
“I had truly hoped to speak with each of you before this news reached the press, as my customers mean everything to me,” Williams continued in the statement.
“Thank you all for your incredible support and understanding during this difficult time.”
Earlier this year, the brand announced it would be opening a standalone retail space, P.Louise City, in Manchester’s Trafford Palazzon.
The two-story store was initially set to open to the public this year, but delays mean the project has been pushed back to 2026.
The brand also has a make-up academy and creative hub, the P.Louise Empire, in Stockport, UK.
Open to the public, the P.Louise Empire has an onsite café, shopping opportunities, speciality areas and seasonal events.
