This month’s round-up of packaging news is a veritable festival of collaborations between packaging suppliers and beauty brands, with dream teams including Aptar Beauty and Guerlain, Knoll and Penhaligon’s, and Gillette and Rifle Paper Co. all teaming up to create innovative and attractive solutions.
1. Aptar Beauty, & Guerlain’s Terracotta Le Teint pump
Aptar Beauty has collaborated with Guerlain on the high-performance, luxury pump for the brand’s new Terracotta Le Teint foundation, launched in March.
The Evolux pump has been extensively tested with Guerlain’s advanced formula at Aptar’s Applied Science Department to ensure optimal formula compatibility and flawless dispensing.
The pump is also used for Guerlain’s Parure Gold rejuvenating foundation, launched at the end of 2022.
Evolux is a premium pump for prestige skin care and make-up products.
It uses an Alpha cartridge, which is POM-free and has a metal-free pathway.
Made in France at Aptar’s Le Neubourg plant, the metal dispensing system is anodised in gold, matched with Guerlain’s signature colour, with the brand’s ‘GG’ initials engraved on the top of the actuator.
2. Rifle Paper Co. + Gillette Venus
Gillette Venus and lifestyle brand Rifle Paper Co. have launched an eight-piece collection of hair-removal products based on Rifle Paper Co.’s Marguerite pattern, available at Target.
Marguerite patterned florals are printed on the handle of each razor and on all the collection’s packaging.
The line-up includes Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Deluxe Smooth Sensitive Razor; Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Deluxe Smooth Sensitive Razor Blade Refills; Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Comfortglide Sugarberry Razor Blade Refills; Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Disposable Razors; Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Honeyflower Shave Cream; and a Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Mini Comfortglide Razor.
Also part of the collection are two entirely new products.
The Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Silk-épil 3 Epilator is powered by Braun and offers added options for sensitive areas, while the Rifle Paper Co. + Venus Caramel Wax provides long lasting smooth results with no preheating required.
3. Cosmogen Needle tube, Pai’s Feather Canyon
For its new eye contour care launch, Feather Canyon, Pai chose the Needle tube from Cosmogen with its ultra-thin cannula.
Needle’s tube is made from recycled and recyclable plastic, while the metal tip is removable and recyclable.
It is designed for targeted eye or lip care with the cannula and cap available as silvery or golden hues.
4. Knoll Printing & Packaging, Penhaligon’s eco-friendly coffret
Fragrance house Penhaligon’s has partnered with Knoll Printing & Packaging to launch the industry’s first fragrance coffret combining Knoll’s Ecoform moulded pulp with FSC paper and board.
The exterior of the set uses Ecoform shaped into the iconic Penhaligon’s bottle silhouette and colour matched to the Penhaligon’s green with a smooth and luxury appearance to meet the brand’s DNA.
The interior features an FSC paper and board platform which securely holds eight 10ml fragrances.
The platform features an innovative pop feature to retrieve each fragrance vial.
Finishing touches include a British ribbon to close the set and add a bold pop of colour.
Knoll Ecoform is a plant material made from bamboo, wood and sugarcane fibres; the material is certified recyclable in the paper recycling stream, and can be moulded, cut to order and colour matched.
5. Baralan, Lilibet range
Baralan has introduced a new range of glass bottles, the Lilibet Series. With a modern design, the new series is said to blend the charm of a circular shape with the strength of a square profile.
The series is inspired by Baralan’s ‘Beautytude’ approach, which expresses the company’s take on current beauty trends and style themes – clean beauty and sustainability chief among them.
The Lilibet Series is adaptable to different product types, while its slim shape also makes it aesthetically impactful.
Featuring various capacities and neck sizes, the seven-bottle series is available in smaller sizes from 6ml to 12ml, and in larger ones ranging from 15ml to 30ml.
It is said to be suitable for skin care, nail polish, make-up and fragrances.
