Each new store will be designed to ‘immerse, inform and engage customers’, with the AS Watson-owned retailer reporting consumer demand for experience-led physical retail spaces

Superdrug will open 30 new stores in 2026, as the AS Watson-owned beauty retailer continues its UK bricks-and-mortar expansion plans.

The decision follows Superdrug reporting strong customer demand for “experience-led” physical retail spaces.

Each new store will be designed to “immerse, inform and engage customers”, while also helping them discover trending beauty brands and access expert advice.

The new spaces will also offer in-store treatments such as ear piercing, manicures and eyebrow threading via the Superdrug Beauty Studios spaces.

Luxury fragrance counters will also be included, as well as access to pharmacies offering personalised and professional health care guidance.

“Superdrug continues to see strong demand for physical, experience-led retail, and our 2026 store opening programme is a clear vote of confidence in UK bricks-and-mortar retail,” said Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s Property Director.

“By opening 30 stores, we are not just increasing our footprint, we are creating destinations that bring together beauty, health care and affordable treatments under one roof.”

These will be located at large-format destination stores and retail park locations, and create an estimated 600 new jobs.

Confirmed openings on new sites include Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park and Linwood Phoenix Retail Park in Scotland.

As well as White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park, Newport Retail Park, Isle of Wight in England and Cwmbran Retail Park in Wales.

Alongside new openings, Superdrug also plans to undertake 60 store refits during 2026.

Jennings added: "As the business grows, investment in training, inductions and development programmes remains a key priority.

“Each store opening provides an opportunity to create inclusive, supportive workplaces, equipping colleagues with the skills and confidence to deliver an elevated customer experience.

“Our customers want more than convenience, they want expertise, products and services they can trust, delivered in welcoming spaces within their local communities.

“This investment allows us to bring bigger, better Superdrug stores to more locations across the UK, unlocking more access to health care, beauty products and treatments, while creating hundreds of new jobs and long-term career opportunities for our colleagues.”
