From colour-blocking to fine jewellery and selfies, nail trends have continued to push the boundaries of beauty in 2017.

Today, ‘nail enhancements’ currently account for roughly 10% of the professional nail care market, a newly tracked sub-sector for Kline. As consumers seek more complex looks, technicians are increasingly challenged to deliver designs that often make use of unconventional materials or techniques.

Here, 2010 WorldCup Nail Art champion Paulina Pastuszak, who has also been a juror more than 30 times for the Polish and International Nail Art Championships, describes the trends she predicts will be big hits in 2017/18 and the NPD opportunities open to brands and salon operators.
