Beauty firm Yves St Laurent has teamed up with Google Glass to offer make-up tutorials, which it calls Beauty Tutorials 2.0.

The idea is being trialled in the firm’s New York and London outlets until the end of September, before roll-out across Europe and Asia. YSL has equipped its make-up artists with the augmented reality glasses, which contain a built-in camera. Make-up applications is filmed as it happens, capturing the make-up artist’s every step to show how the look is achieved. The finished film can then be sent to the client by email to use as a personalised makeup tutorial.

The firm is also offering clients before and after snapshots, along with a list of the products used in the tutorial so that they can purchase the same products in-store. YSL expects that clients will post their makeup tutorials online on social media and via video sharing sites such as YouTube.
