YSL Beauty has unveiled its latest campaign starring rapper Lil Nas X.

The ‘Old Town Road’ singer – real name Montero Lamar Hill – joined the L’Oréal-owned brand in 2022 as an ambassador.

His second campaign sees the star modelling five make-up looks that are said to represent different sides to the Grammy Award-winning artist, created using YSL Beauty products.

The soundtrack will feature new music from the singer, which is said to portray the different moments of his life that have shaped his identity, according to YSL Beauty.

"Since the beginning of last year, my partnership with YSL Beauté has been about pushing the beauty boundaries and embracing individuality,” said Lil Nas X.

“With this new campaign, we're exploring my many faces and personalities through five different make-up looks that gave me the chance to experiment with my make-up in a more artistic way.

“I hope we can inspire the future generation to do the same."

The campaign, shot by photographer Campbell Addy, will be released as separate ‘chapters’ throughout the year, with the first being The Icon.

Focusing on glowing skin, the first images see Lil Nas X wearing YSL products including NU Halo Tint Highlighter, Lash Clash mascara and Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick.

The Edge look, meanwhile, is inspired by the ‘Montero’ singer’s festival appearances and features a graphic make-up look including flushed skin and defined eyes.

"What we love about Lil Nas X is his bold approach to self-expression, using make-up as a creative outlet,” added Laetitia Raoust, YSL Beauté's US General Manager.

“The power of make-up is endless – and who better than Lil Nas X to demonstrate it?"

The campaign’s first push is live now across all social media platforms, with the next four instalments set to be unveiled throughout the summer.
