If you have ever stepped onto the floor of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna then you know it is more than a beauty trade show – it is where the future of beauty unveils itself, often with a few surprises. 

Beauty's biggest trade returned to Bologna from 20 to 23 March and there was plenty to see at the Italian exhibition, which had more than 255,000 visitors

Inge Theron, skin care specialist and founder of FaceGym, headed to the show on behalf of Cosmetics Business to get hands-on experience with new brands from around the world that are the embodiment of beauty's next chapter. 

Below she reveals what made the 2025 show different and the key trends that will shape the beauty landscape this year.

Inge’s key takeaways from Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2025…

“There were many more artificial intelligence (AI)-powered diagnostic and personalisation systems at the show as custom beauty products and routines became a realistic and scalable solution for us all. 

Longevity has also migrated from treatments into tubes of cellular rejuvenating goop with mega actives like NAD+ starting to creep into formulations. 

Also, did someone say “turn on the lights?”

The light revolution seems to be getting bigger each year with more players offering a variety of device executions that are lighter and foldable, making them easier to travel with.

And the light modalities are converging with other technology, such as infrared, proving its longevity as a core component in our everyday skin maintenance.

PDRN reigned supreme 

Regenerative actives were also everywhere – ingredients from naturally-derived origin sources seem to know no-end, with the clear winner being our evolutionary relative the salmon, or to be more exact, its glowing orange youth-boosting sperm!
