Boots has issued a recall notice for make-up brand Wet n Wild’s Proline Felt Tip Eyeliner.
The Markwins Beauty Brands-owned beauty brand has itself initiated the voluntary recall as a result of a non-conformity identified during a product regulatory check.
It found that the eyeliner, which is stocked in Boots UK stores and online, did not comply with the applicable cosmetic products sale and distribution regulations.
In an update posted to the product recall page on Boots’ website, the UK beauty and health retailer has recommended consumers to “not use the product”.
It also prompted shoppers to return the recalled product to the point of sale within six months.
The Wet n Wild Proline Felt Tip Eyeliner’s product reference is E8752 – EAN 4049775587527, and the recall has been applied to all batches.
Consumers can email via regulatoryemea@markwins.com for further queries.
“The safety of our customers is paramount, so on this page you will find details of any products which have been recalled either by us or our suppliers in case of an issue with quality or safety,” Boots wrote on its product recall website.
Cosmetics Business has contacted Boots and Markwins Beauty Brands for a comment.
