The house has teased the launch of its first-ever cosmetics collection, which comprises a range of satin-finish lipsticks

Luxury fashion brand Celine is moving into beauty with a new make-up collection.

Celine Beauté is the “first cosmetics line in the house’s history” and the brainchild of the brand’s image director Hedi Slimane.

A “classic” satin lipstick in shade Rouge Triomphe will launch this autumn, followed by 15-shade lipstick collection Le Rouge Celine in January 2025.

Celine teased the debut via its film La Collection De L’Arc De Triomphe on social media.

In the video, models can be seen wearing natural rose-hued lipstick Sporting La Peau Nue from the Le Rouge Celine collection.

Celine Beauté will launch new lines each season, which will comprise lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners and pencils.

As well as loose powders, blushes and nail polishes.

“The creation of Celine Beauté comes to enrich the cultural roots, promoting a French idea of femininity and allure,” read a statement from the brand.

“Distilled over the last five years by Heidi Slimane in his new institutional codes for the maison Celine.”

Celine Beauté will complement the LVMH-owned brand’s haute parfumerie collection which launched in 2019.

Celine is not the only fashion giant that is making a play into beauty.

Prada, known for its handbag, clothing and perfume lines, launched a cosmetics and skin care collection last year.

While luxury fashion brand Rabanne unveiled its first set of lip products, eye shadow palettes and pigments.

Dolce & Gabbana has even brought its beauty business in-house to produce its own cosmetics, skin care and fragrances.
