UK print and packaging company Curtis Print and Packaging has introduced a new, free health check for brands in a bid to cement its position as a leading sustainable packaging producer.

Environmentally friendly living has been growing in popularity for some years now as concerns increase about the effect that every day living is having on the environment. Curtis Print and Packaging now hopes that the new scheme will shed a fresh light on the packaging industry – which is often viewed as one of the main perpetrators of waste.

Existing packaging can now be assessed and analysed by experts at the company with an evaluation on offer that gives recommendations on reducing the packaging’s environmental impact.

Steve Mallett, sales director for Curtis, says, “Using vegetable inks, water based coatings or chemical free plate making are some of the steps we take to produce greener packaging. Gone are the days that sustainable packaging was ugly.”
