UK based brand developer buys dermatologist-created skin care brand from Procter & Gamble

UK based brand developer Designer Parfums has bought dermatologist-created skin care brand DDF Skincare from Procter & Gamble and says it has plans to work with DDF’s founder, Dr Howard Sobel, who will play a more instrumental role in the company in the future.

“We have taken the strategic step of entering into the premium skin care market and are delighted to be taking this first step through the acquisition of the DDF business,” said Designer Parfums CEO Dilesh Mehta in an announcement. “DDF’s range of products and product efficacy is consistently acknowledged to be a leader in its field,” continued Mehta. “It has a very loyal customer base in the US and beyond and we plan to bring these well-loved products to new markets to ensure they are accessible.”

DDF, which stands for Doctors’ Dermatological Formula, promotes a four-stage approach to skin care, comprising cleansing, protecting, treating and ‘RxTra’ for special requirements such as acne. Designer Parfums, part of the larger UK-based fragrance group Shaneel Enterprises, handles Aigner Parfums, Ghost, Jean Patou, Scherrer, Porsche Design and Worth Paris.
