Dyson Beauty is breaking into the scalp care market with a leave-in treatment that is said to “promote and protect” an optimal scalp environment.
Topical product, Dyson Amino, is said to blend the company’s farm-grown barley with 11 amino acids and skin care-grade ingredients to balance moisture and oils for an improved scalp barrier function.
Scalp care is now front and centre in beauty, with the global scalp care market projected to reach US$20.79bn by 2030, according to Coherent Market Insights.
The move into topical scalp care builds on Dyson’s 12 years of experience in hair science, complementing its existing hair tool range.
This includes Dyson’s Supersonic Nural hair dryer, which is said to have a Scalp Protect Mode to adjust air temperature to protect the scalp.
“We know that healthy, strong hair starts at the root, [and] a fortified scalp means stronger, thicker, healthier hair,” Euan Bell, Associate Design Manager at Dyson, told Cosmetics Business.
“We are always looking to explore synergies within our technology and combine our great passions – Dyson Farming and hair health.”
