The New York fashion label is redesigning the brand\'s beauty advisor uniforms

Estée Lauder's 15,000 beauty advisors worldwide are getting a makeover. In its latest brand partnership, the US beauty brand has called on New York based fashion label Opening Ceremony to redesign its beauty advisor uniforms. The result is a 14-piece collection which Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon describe as “a modern collection of feminine, flattering and carefully curated pieces”.

“Opening Ceremony is a design house that embodies the spirit of downtown cool,” said Richard Ferretti, SVP and Global Creative Director, Estée Lauder. “But it’s not just a fashion brand – Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are curators of design. They also happen to be lifelong fans and collectors of our vintage compacts.”

To design the collection, Lim and Leon took inspiration from Estée Lauder’s archives, including its vintage compacts, which inspired a new enamelled belt and the brand's “rope weave” pattern, which has been referenced in a custom jacquard fabric print. The core collection, which features a palette of navy and off-white, includes classic items such as a shirred neck blouse and pleated skirt (pictured), which can be customised through detachable belts in different colours or prints. For men, the uniform consists of a blazer, slim fit trousers and tie bearing the brand's jacquard print.

The new uniform has been unveiled at the opening of Estée Lauder’s new flagship counter at Macy’s Herald Square, and will be rolled out to its global counters in the near future.
